Mu Shu Chicken Recipe
Pieces of chicken are cooked with mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, green onions, and egg, rolled in a tortilla and served with a sauce.
Ingredients:
Dipping Sauce:
1. Chicken broth (½ cup)
2. Rice wine vinegar (1 tbsp.)
3. Tomato sauce (1 tbsp.)
4. Soy sauce (2 tbsp.)
5. Finely minced garlic (½ tsp.)
6. Brown sugar (1tbsp.)
Mu Shu:
1. Chicken breasts (½ -3/4 lb.)
2. Eggs (2, lightly beaten)
3. Tortilla-style bread wraps [4 (9-inch )]
4. Oriental bean sprouts (2 cups)
5. Toasted sesame oil (1 tbsp.)
6. Green onions (4, trimmed and diced)
7. Minced garlic (1 tsp.)
8. Sliced mushrooms (1 cup)
9. Canned bamboo shoots (½ cup, drained )
10. Ground ginger (½ tsp.)
11. Soy sauce (1 tbsp.)
Method Of preparation:-
Dipping sauce:
To make dipping sauce, take a small bowl and whisk together all the sauce ingredients. Set aside.
Mu shu:
1. For the preparation of mu shu take a large skillet and heat sesame oil over medium high heat. Now saute chicken breast chunks, mushrooms and garlic for about 5 minutes.
2. Add bamboo shoots and green onions and saute for 3 more minutes. Now add ginger, bean sprouts and soy sauce. Cook it for 2 minutes(uncovered). Now add eggs and mix well. Cook until it just sets.
3. Now warm wraps in microwave about 30 seconds, until it becomes soft and pliable. Now divide the mixture into 2 equal half’s and cut the warm wraps diagonally and serve immediately with dipping sauce.
